'Burford or Bust' - Middx Region Run-Out - Saturday 29th May
Discussion
Dear all,
Myself and some of the Middx guys are organising a run-out to the Cotswolds on the 29th May. The run is comprised entirely of A/B roads, no motorways, and will take us into Oxon via a brief stop at Tring, Herts to collect up Bucks/Herts members on the way. The lunch stop is The Mason's Arms http://www.masons-arms.com/ just outside Chipping Norton and will culminate post-lunch at Burford, one of the prettiest towns in the area, an excellent place for a stroll and the chance to stock up on home made jam and the other things which one buys in Cotswolds towns! From here we will disperse and make our way home, up to individuals as to what route they take at this point.
The plan is as follows:
Assemble 10.00am at the Polish War Memorial (A40 - Western Avenue, intersection with West End Road, Ruislip) - leave in convoy and rendezvous briefly at 11.00am at The Crow's Nest, Tring (Tring Hill, HP23 4LD)
Then onto Aylesbury, Buckingham and west in Oxon until we reach the lunchstop - forgive me if I don't attempt to describe the route in detail, you will have map prints on the day so there is no need to memorise anything, or be forced to play follow-my-leader if you don't wish to.
The lunchstop is 12.30pm, we may in fact arrive a little earlier traffic depending.
I have negotiated a group menu - please see below. The restaurant has requested that menu choices are sent back to them in advance so they can serve us simultaneously - fair enough. We have the booking held until 22nd May at which point I need to confirm numbers.
So.....if you would like to join us...
