GT racing at SIlverstone 14th/15th August

Anyone else going to the GT racing at Silverstone next weekend? Got my tickets through today, looking forward to going round the track

Have you had many more takers? Two of us doesn't seem enough for a TVR convoy

Hi, I will be going on just the Sunday I think. I have got nothing to do with organising it so no idea how many people are going! Will be interesting if there are just two of us! There are other events on that weekend like BSG (which I may go to on Saturday) so not sure how many cars there will be... Hopefully lots will see it as a great opportunity to drive the GP track.

Me too (Sunday only). Not sure who the co-pilot will be though, the wife wasn't too chuffed that we had to be there before 10 to register for the lap. Early start from Essex, or maybe make a weekend of it and try and get somewhere to stay nearby. Hope the weather is ok, don't fancy watching in the rain.

I'm going both days, should be good. I heard from Fiona (the lady who sent the tickets)that about 18 TVR cars booked in so far.

Having just seen this thread - what is the deal with a lap of the track then? Is it a TVRCC thing?

Silverstone approached TVRCC I believe, offering free tickets, on the basis we take our P&J and join in on a parade lap behind the safety car. Don't know if it will be just TVRs or others will join in. Although we are directed to park in the 'supercar car park', so who knows.

Apparently 18 sets of tickets have been issued.

I know its not much of a consolation but if there is anyway that I can get you in my car as a passenger Chris would you be interested? I will be registering before 10am so could let you know what they say???

Possibly if you are going up the M1 depending on time. I get on at J9 so could meet at one of the services between there are J15a?

I hope so too! - Taking my girlfriend up, who's a teacher, so if we can't i'm sure she would be happy to look after your daughter while we're having fun on track!

I imagine it is fine though as i have been round before in a Ferrari as a passenger at a similar event. I would think that (as at the Ferrari event) you just need to make sure that your passenger is with you when registering in the morning as i presume anyone going on track will have to sign a form saying that Silverstone are not responsible for any accidents on track, and motorsport is dangerous etc. etc.

I could meet you on the M1 yes, undecided wether I'm going now due to the weather report....will post again tomorrow when Ian McKaskill decided what's happening....
