Top Gear Show recording

Silly question but anyone on here been to see a recording of top gear? Ive heard rumours of despite having tickets, not getting entry. Any recommendations for how early to get there, doors seem to open at 1.30pm.

I've heard it's on a first come first serve basis and that is made clear when you recieve the tickets, how true that is I don't know...

you have apply for tickets which are then allocated accordingly. i have registered every year for the past 4 years & i'm still waiting for tickets. i was told that people are waiting for up to five series before they get allocate a ticket although how true that is i dont know.

you cannot simply arrive at the gate & expect to be allowed in - entry is strictly by ticket only unfortunately.

We arrived about 1ish and got in no problems. We had ample time for a burger from the shop and chatting to everyone before being called into the studio

I went several years ago now - allocated tickets so there should be no reason why you don't get let in. Although I seem to remember they said you had to have 50/50 men/women... so if they were being picky they could refuse you if you turn up as a group of blokes.

They do advise you to arrive early (it's in the middle of nowhere so allow time to find it).

My Post from Jan and a link at the bottom to the thread. Never got replacement tickets.

So just a quick update.......what a total shambles!

A friend got tickets for yesterdays recording, tickets said doors open at 1.30pm so arranged to meet my friend at Dunsfold Aerodrome at 13.00pm. Got there and there was a queue of cars trying to get into the aerodrome, sat there for 10 mins or so only to get told by a security guard that there were way too many people and we would not get in! He said the set took 500 people and they had sent out 700 tickets!

So I turned around and went home, what a waste of a day and a big disappointment. My friend did get into the car park but even he did not get on set, they were turning people away at the doors. Fortunately it's only a 50 mile trip for me to get there, the people in the car behind me drove down from Birmingham, another couple had flown down from Scotland and had a car pick them up from Heathrow! They were not happy!

So a bit of advice, if you do get tickets, get there early, 1.30pm is the time the set opens, the aerodrome opens for cars at 11.30am, I would aim for 12.30 to be safe.

www.applausestore.com ,who arrange tickets, have promised us some replacements for later in the new series, will wait and see!

It's quite a long day but I really enjoyed it.

Talking of Tiswas - i was in The Cage a couple of times live on the show. Got soaked by Lenny Henry & got to meet Sally James......... in her thigh length black boots!!!!
