Top Gear - Monaco circuit.

It's been bugging me a bit so I thought I'd ask you lot.

It may be just me but I couldn't help feeling that most of the footage looked like it'd been taken from Gran Tourismo or somesuch.

Either the computer games are really really lifelike or the in-car cameras were a bit rubbish. Either way, it was genuine - a couple of my colleagues were there.

The footage, particularly the stuff from the sidelines, just looked a bit grainy or pixelated to me that was all.

while i didnt think much to the show , i was in no doubt it was real filming and not a video game

I wouldn't say any of it looked anything other than reality, but at the time I did joke that it reminded me of a fun cup race or similar early championship event from Gran Turismo

I actually agree with you here, and thought exactly the same thing during the broadcast. No doubt at all it was real but a few of the shots had me double-taking as they did look very CG.
