Dear BBC,

Why change iPlayer, that worked, for a new version that doesn't?

Why remove the volume function?

Why remove the timer?

Why make it so it constantly buffers, when it didn't before?

Why make it impossible to choose where you can rewind and fast forward to?

Why are you such fkwits?

Why have I not cancelled my idiot tax with you? Thanks for the reminder, s.

When did this happen?

Also annoying is the ch4 OD service, only about 1/3rd of the availability of the website version.

Do what I do - download all the TV shows you want to watch from torrents. They work without any hassle.

Forced to do an 'update' this evening...really hate not having the choice to stick with what works!

I could do, but you still have the hassle of downloading it, which seems a waste when the PS3 has the functionality, supposedly.

I don't have a tv, just stream via PS3 to projector....defo cancelling my licence.

Is there an update waiting for me next time I turn my PS3 on? It annoys me that they're not optional - you can choose not to install it, but you won't be able to sign in to PSN until you do...

Slightly o/t but, tried to watch something on 5demand, a tv show we missed first couple of episodes. Bloody thing wouldnt work through ps3 as it said it had to be played via flashplayer which wont istal on ps3. wtf? I'm sure i've watched things on 5demand before throught the ps3? is this part of the improvements? Have barely used it since the shutdown, this is ridiculous!

Tried to watch an old episode of HIGNFY last night and I got 10mins in and gave up - just kept stopping to buffer it, and no, it's not my connection! Worked fine before...

I had the same problem with Angry Boys. Gave up after a while.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's rubbish. It wasn't exactly good before tbh but this is ten times worse. Why cant you just view iplayer through the web? Is there a software problem or something that makes them (the BBC) do it differently on the PS3?

It wasn't great before, but at least it worked! I have 13mb download rate and it still can't cope. Prior to the upgrade it worked seamlessly for 8 months without buffering.

Disappointing.

I hope they go back to the old one because this one is st, impossible to rewind back to the right point because it seems to jump completely random amounts of time, and has anyone worked out how to get out of it, used to just be circle, now there doesnt seem to be a way to do it without quitting the whole system.

I noticed that. You can hold down the PS button and tell it to quit, which will take you back to the main PS3 menu. PITA though.

Utter guff! What a waste of time. I hate when they do this. Last one was much easier and more useful. A group of dicks in the BBC will have been weighed in nicely for it aswell.

If you lower the quality it runs better. However no noticeable difference to quality.

Use the right analogue stick and it isn't so bad, still no where near as easy as the point and click old system though!

Took the update today and it is indeed rather crap. I won't be bothering with it, I'll use the laptop instead.
