Right,

I finally caved in and the missus got sky.

On the plus side that means that I can watch BSG - First one was this week... . But it appears to be Series three, and to say it's somewhat different to the series I know from my childhood is an understatement.

So, can someone fill me in as to WTF it's all about. Cylons who look like humans and die but end up in some kind of pod? A female Starbuck? Cylons believe in God?

Help me please..

There are some threads in this forum about BSG.

Suffice to say, you will want to follow it from the start - including the prequel mini series and razors edge.

I think it is one of the best sci-fi series ever made.

To be honest, I don't think it's something you can just jump into halfway through expecting to understand everything. At the very least I'd suggest watching the pilot/miniseries first as it sets the background for most of the major story arcs.

It is the best Sci-Fi program that's been on. Sod, worrying about the back story, just get the box set from Amazon, not forgetting the pilot episode as that sets everything up.

Where abouts are you? I could lend you my collection if you're close enough.

I am in Suffolk, and your offer is most generous, however I am not convinced I would have enough time to watch the amount of stuff I would need to catch up to where it is on Sky!!!

You're too far away as well really, I can't recommend it enough though, get the box set and watch in your own time, well worth it, better than anything else that's on now or been on since IMHO.

Once you've seen the "Mini Series" plus "33" (Series 1 Ep1) you'll find the time to catch up...

As for the original BSG, forget it. There are a good few nods along the way, but it's a totally different show.

Yip, do yourself a favour and watch from the start, meaning the Sky Mini-series. It'll be a richer watching experience and you will really care aboot the characters.

There are no doubt plenty of spoilers in the two threads below...there are some great twists in this series and we are almost on top of perhaps the largest one of the whole programme...your choice if you start watching from nowbiggrin
