It wasn't BA's decision.

Still don't let the facts get in the ways of a rant ...BTW thread already running somewhere.

Don't really see your issue with the advert, though. It's basically a brief overview of their history. Concorde is a part of that history.

I thought Branson Virgin tried to buy Concorde from BA but BA would rather scrap it than sell it?

Branson didnt try very hard, his efforts were more of a PR stunt than anything else.

Branson was full of s**te hot air as usual.

It had its day, get over it. Airbus and Air France pulled the plug after BA spent millions updating theirs to allow them to fly on.

Don't see anything in the articles that justify Branson was all hot air. I'm as cynical as the next guy, but Branson has pioneered commercial space flight, it's not like he's not up for a challenge.

Also despite getting knocked back over Northern Rock - he's still trying again.

Isn't it just as likely BA didn't want to risk Virgin making Concorde work?

I like that advert. It's not BA's fault Concorde died, it's times fault that it's not 1985 anymore. Plus they still exist and it would be nice to see them fly at shows and still be used for the odd flight across the pond, but the sad truth is that as beautiful as they are, they are too old and cramped for daily use as a commercial jet, when you compare them to the luxury (but slower)aircraft of today.

Yep, i'm sure he'll keep Concorde going with the amazing sum of £1 million quid. That would last a few months at most.
