Eh?

This does not bode well.

I loved Rentaghost in my youth. It would be sacrilege to 'Americanise' it.

I can still hum the theme tune to myself even now (boxedin).

What next? The Ghosts of Motley Hall?

I absolutely loved 'Chocky' when it came out. If done properly (with an English cast) I reckon that would be really good as a remake.

Completely off topic - why does it appear that kids shows are crap now and are nothing like those of the 70's/80's/90's?

It was an awful show, bizarre that they're remaking it.

Quite like the idea of a Chocky remake, I watched it recently, it's not great but really liked the concept.

Quite liked 'The Children Of the Dog Star' which was on at the same time, again a bit naff now but was ace at the time (and I was 11).

Do they still make sci-fi drama's for children these days?

Children Of The Dog Star!

That brings back memories, I remember it being quite spooky what with the funny star on the barn roof.

I would love to see that again.

I have no idea if they still do childrens sci-fi, I suppose looking back it was cheesy. It was still good!

Rentaghost was absolutely ace...it may still be ace if still set in England, if it switches to the USA it might be ok.

It'll be crap if set in the US, I don't think an American Hazel McWitch would really work.

I've just found 'Super Gran' on Youtube, I don't think I've seen it since it was last on in the 80's.

Funnily enough, it doesn't look as scary as it used to!

the whole thing is on YouTube, it's a bit naff and not scary at all but I thought it was ace when it was new, a remake could be interesting as it's still a cool idea.

I was singing Rentaghost to myself the other day (stuck in my head for no reason) and my other half joined in.

Daughter (9) wanted to know what we were singing. We told her it was from a rubbish telly show when we were little. "If it was rubbish, why did you watch it?" 'Cos when we were your age, there was about 2.5 hours of kids' telly on a day and you watched it or missed it. No CBBC, no PVR.

I have turned in to my father getmecoat
