I find most so called 'celeb' chefs tts. There are some exceptions. Hugh is one of them.
He has a new show running where he will only eat veg for the summer, I watched the first episode and loved it.

I liked his intro, his concern for our food culture, the welfare of the other animals, the health of humans, and food production.
Anyone else catch this programme?

Yes and I agree with you - Hugh has raised some serious issues (e.g. his Fish Fight http://www.fishfight.net/).

I like his style.

PS Shame he has gone soft and put a hard top on his old Landy, as I loved the sagging/torn canvas roof fitted in previous series. Cool, but I can't explain why!

I like Hugh, but I reckon his decision to do a series and book on veg might be mostly down to him already having done on called 'Meat' and one called 'Fish'

Can put up with H F-W more than most TV chefs, though he did his best to alienate me with his contrived impoverished persona in early River Cottage series. Poor impoverished stony broke millionaire Hugh.

Least he's got his bloody hair cut at last the scruffy git. Just have to see Capt Slow get a trim now.

I agree. Hugh and Rick Stein are my favourite 'celeb' chefs because their food is simple, and they have no ego that afflicts knob ends like that Ramsey tt.

There's quite a team at River Cottage - http://www.rivercottage.net/about/meet-the-team/

John Wright does some interesting foraging 10min progs, finding all his ingredients. Well all the main ones, he doesn't forage for Tabasco sauce. He finds mushrooms, wild garlic, watercress, other odd vegetables and tells you the right ones to eat and what can kill you in minutes. It's the vegetarian assassins programme of choice hehe
