Revisited Shawshank Redemption tonight....

Slightly worried that the last 20 minutes or so still manage to reduce me to a blubbering wreck after watching it at least 10 times...

Is it just me?

Great film, except for the last 1min ;-(

(it's a film about "hope", the clue is that the characters use the word "hope" a lot. So when Red in on the Greyhound bus slowly driving into the distance and giving his "hope speach", well, that's the end, it needs to fade to black at that point, we don't need the stupid lame cheesy meeting on the beach scene, no doubt put in for stupid people, to tell us that main characters will be ok.........)

You do realise that you've just ruined the whole film for anyone who's not seen it!

Ironically I had to google that, I've never seen Star Wars, so assuming that line is central to the plot then I guess you've buggered that one for me lol

not really a book though, IIRC it's a short story by Stephen King..... I read it ages ago shortly after seeing the film for the first time.
Don't really recall much about it TBH

Did you maybe not think there might be a clue as to the ending, in the actual title of the Shawshank Redemption.........

;-)
