not bad film overall. visually wonderful but plot was slightly lacking and Rourke was hamming it up big style. 3d wasnt worth it and gave me a stonking headache but never mind.

worth watching on bluray but dont go out of your way to go see it (300 was better)

Going to see tonight. I didn't want to read any reviews to put myself off so glad to hear it's worth watching. I'm with you on the 3D gives me a headache too. Was it filmed for 3D or enhanced afterwards?

I saw this yesterday. I actually prefered it to '300'.

The special effects are very good with only the occasional whiff of CGI, the storyline is a little flat but adequate for a film driven by the imagery and violence.
I was surprised with how graphic it was, the torture and fight scenes are quite intense and a few bits made me shiver.

Overall I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.

while its mythology i thought they could have stuck the myths a bit better than just making it up as they went along

Dunno what it was about this film, but I really enjoyed it. Might have helped that Isabel Lucas was topless/body painted.

I thought it was pretty rubbish. Not a patch on 300 IMO and I usually like this sort of film regardless would have just and so made an OK TV movie!!
