What episode typifies a series for you?
Discussion
OK not a great way to put it in the title, but I was limited for space.
Say someone says to you "Oh, I hear a lot of go.d things about this programme you like, show me an episode", what would you show them?
For example, if someone had never seen The IT Crowd, I'd put on "Speech" (S3E4) where Jen wins employee of the month and Douglas goes out with a transsexual. It's easy to get into without knowing a lot of back story and it's hilarious!
For Red Dwarf I'd pick something from Series 4 or 5 I think, but I'm not sure exactly what. Do you go for a stand out episode, or something more typical? DNA maybe.
For Blackadder, would you pick the final episode?
Fawlty Towers - The Germans maybe?
Your turn! Maybe we'll find new things to watch. I know I've gone for comedies, but that's not a hard and fast rule.

The one that got us into Buffy was "Once More With Feeling", which was a real "what on earth is going on here?" episode. A more traditional introduction might be Hush.
Doctor Who - has to be Blink or Girl in the Fireplace.
Married With Children - "Married... With Aliens", mad.
Nightingales (Robert Lindsay - ran for two series in 1992/3) "All at Sea"
Blackadder The Third - "Ink and Incapability"
