Our dog doesn't wear a buster collar nowadays when she's injured, she wears the Cone of Shame.
We were talking about this just the other night. I love Pixar films, but I can't bring myself to watch this one over and over. I can't even get past the "life summary" bit without the onions turning up.

I thought it was a brilliant film
It was heart-wrenchingly sad and though I made it through the beginning one (just!) the end one had me in floods of tears. I've only ever cried to two films - UP, and Forest Gump (when Jenny dies!).
It's great that they tried something a bit different and new, and it went well I think.

It is a top class film, from the story, the music, the visuals, the range of emotions in it. One of my top 5 films.
My 9 year old daughter gets it all too, from sadness to the humour to the 'message'..the lot. It clearly isn't the same as Toy Story or CARS, but it is a mighty strong film IMO.

I liked this film. I did think it was as good as the hype too.
Plus that was one of the saddest beginnings for any film, true.
It's hard to explain to your 3 year old why daddy is sobbing uncontrollably. Even worse I was telling my parents about the story and started crying again.Plus that was one of the saddest beginnings for any film, true.
Completely agree - don't think I've seen a sadder film.

Truly a wrench at the heart strings but was that not the point of the film, storytelling about love and loss then trying to find your new path, all these emotions within a movie without hardly any dialogue.Plus that was one of the saddest beginnings for any film, true.

Pixar films seem to have more thought in how they are written than some films that purport to be all about the story, and 90% of all other films.I loved Up! (and yep, early on is very sad). It does tail off a little into a kiddie flick as the movie goes on but it's still a wonderful film. However, and I understand why they don't, wouldn't it be great if Pixar were able to take one of their films a step further and keep it poignant all the way through.
The first half hour or so of Wall-E is stunning too before it realises it's supposed to be for kids too. Maybe they could have an "adult" movie division ... no, not THAT type (although Elastigirl would be a thought
)

Wall-E is brilliant all the way through! One of my favourite films of all time. Another onion film though, at the end, when Eve reassembles Wall-E and... Yes, it was hilariously funny at times as well. The dogs talking amused me no end.But the whole premise of the movie being that she didn't get to live out her lifelong dream!?!? That was just so sad, and the timing of the failure as well, just as he was going to give her the tickets!?!? I mean FFS.
