V8 version would get it done in half the time and have more torque through the thicker stuff hehe

I am not wanting to jump on the french bashing side, but seriously, Renault think this is a good idea?? They can barely make their electrics work when there is a petrol engine under the bonnet. I hope these cars will come with a good warranty

All good and well for the French, who presumably have lovely nuclear power stations at the other end of their plugs, but what are we to do with these at the source of our electricity?

This advert really fking annoys me, it says we've already switched to electric for many thinga why not transport, i don't remember switching from anything for all our electrical appliances, they've always been electric which is the right thing for the job, it's not for transport. fking clowns!

Well although you are correct, this is PH & obviously pedantry matters. There were a lot of things that converted to electric, lighting, cooking, boiling water was even done on a coal or wood fired auger, the same with toast, washing cloths, a mangle was used before the spin dryer, before electric fans you'd have a small Indian chap called a punkah wallah, ah good times. That is to mention just a few as the list is huge. smilehehe

I thought the advert was entertaining and a nicely executed bit of steampunk, but thought from the outset it was telling us that everything electric causes pollution (because that electricity has to be generated somehow)

And then they show us an electric car! As if the electricity comes from the magic tree and not by burning fossil fuels. All an electric car does is move the point of pollution.

Actually, to be fair, and I didn't notice this the first few times I saw the advert, but there's some text along the bottom of the screen in the advert that says that "CO2 is produced in the generation of electricity". Although it doesn't appear to be there in the you tube version, I don't think I've imagined it. Can anyone confirm?

Confirmed - but it's not there for long, and only at the very start rather than the end where it should be.

Yes, but the advert implies that nearly every electrical item in common usage was preceded by an internal combustion version, which just isn't true. More eletricar bks.
