Since Christmas, we've had a message popping up on the TV telling us that we'd need to retune the TV on the 9th Feb (or thereabouts). We retuned the TV on the necessary day and since then we've had very poor signal on most of the channels, so bad that I had to watch River Monsters on TVcatchup via the internet cry

Any idea on who we contact? The signal strength is apparently strong, yet the picture quality is bad (blocky, stuttery images/ sound).

Personally, I'm not too fussed as it keeps nonsense such as Hollyoaks and My Pukka Wedding away from my eyes, however my girlfriend is getting annoyed by it hehe

Any advice is most welcome! biggrin

We have a similar problem - Sudbury transmitter - but in our case the signal strength has been reduced temporarily. Apparently the powers that be authorised some engineering work which seems to have started last November and is "expected finish in 2012". As a result we've lost about half a dozen freeview channels (a couple of which are actually worth watching). Seems little can be done other than be patient. I did notice that someone had fired off a letter to one of the Sunday broadsheets a few weeks ago.

Aside from that depending on where you are atmospherics or interference could be causing it.

Happy, it's because the new digital channels aren't up to full power/quality until next week (Wednesday 22nd I think). If they continue after that you may need a new aerial.

I'm in Chineham and BBC is at 100% strength and quality, the ITV/C4/C5 etc channels were at 0% quality / 30% strength last time I looked (earlier today).

HTH.

I spend part of the week in Chineham and found the same as Mike. Would worry about it after the 22nd once all the channels are meant to move to digital.
