Watching an old Play Your Cards Right on TV this evening with the missus (yes we are on a relaxing short break !) I wondered how many of you have been on a game show and is it repeated on TV ?

I've not, but I remember my form tutor going on the Krypton Factor when I was in the fifth year. He came last. He was heavily ridiculed...

I made a very brief appearance on 15 to 1 about 10 years ago. Got the first two questions wrong and was eliminated. First question was how does a Chiromancer tell fortunes and the second was what is the garden bird Turdus Merula better known as. Palm reading and the Blackbird are the answers. I won't forget them if they resurface in a Pub quiz.

Nope. Not something I intend to change either, despite my OH trying to get me to go on a quiz show.

Not been on a game show myself (but can be semi-regularly seen on Dave TG re-runs recieving some banter from Clarkson from my 2005 audience visit!)

But I do remember when I was in school, the mother of one of the boys in my year seemingly used to make a hobby of appearing on game shows. At least three different ones, but the only one I can remember was Wheel of Fortune. Always thought it was odd to go for so many.

Not me but a friend from school went on Fun House.

Got the Power Prize question wrong. He was ridiculed also.

Went with my sister-in-law to some Dale Winton one a few years back, can't remember what it was called but the contestants had to wear some sort of headbands if I remember rightly. My sister-in-law got to the final, but the programme must have been so crap, it was pulled and her moment of fame was never shown. hehe

Edited to say:

It was called I'm the Answer and was pulled after only 4 weeks:

I too have been on TG.

In fact the Christmas 2010 episode where the chaps take the 911 GT3, SLS and 458 Italia across the USA and end up in NYC at the end.

I've also been on Blue Peter - but that was over 10 yrs ago and is deemed now not-talk-about-able!

Knew someone who was asked on Familliy Fortunes:

"Name a famous Arthur ?"

Misunderstanding Les Dennis's scouse accent he thought he said "author" and replied "Shakespeare". This is on constant repeat in the stupid contestant clips shows, despite it being a reasonable answer to someone who can't speak proper.

A mate was on Blankety Blank, back in the days of Les Dawson. He was very chuffed with the 'Teach Yourself Esperanto' kit that he won with (IIRC) 100 Blanks smile

I know someone who was on Deal or No Deal, came away with £15k for a house deposit. He said it was very boring, and he applauded so much over the 2 weeks that his palms started bleeding during filming. He didn't feel it, but the crew had to tell him! rofl

I went to school with someone who was on Do I Not Know That, she said nothing during the entire show and still made it on TV!
