Top Gear - Has it Lost the Plot
Discussion
Don't know about you, but I am getting increasingly tired of the c**p these guys are putting on what was once a good show. I despise the way they belittle real cars, try their best to outdo each other in the cleaver description stakes, and there little side shows such as making boats from cars, smashing caravans, and now wind testing disability skooters, what next - it's quite frankly cheesing me off. I want to see proper car reviews of real cars. I want to see subjective road tests. I am not interested in half baked road tests including putting people in the boots of S65, Rollers and Lada's or driving Mercs and Boxters through soldiers training grounds. Neither am I interested in "the news section" or star in a cheap car. Where can you see a proper car show? Maybe I am just being a boring muppet - but these three, especially Clarkson, are up their own backsides!!
I thought the first half was pretty good. I enjoyed the Fisker and Fezza sections; they both seemed a bit more technical than they have been recently. Clarkson even made a joke acknowledging that the India special was garbage, so it seems they are trying to find a balance to keep both petrolheads and those who just want the cocking about happy.
Sadly then it descended into a Hammond and cocking about show, but 50/50 good/bad is pretty good these days.
Hammond really is a weak link these days, he's becoming the jar jar binks of Top Gear.

Its about entertainment value, if you look at the show as entertainment rather than factual then maybe you would be less angry towards it. People watch becuase they like presenters and have an interest in cars. If you want raw car reviews there are plenty all over youtube, and fifth gear. I personally love this series of top gear.
