Just sat watching Deal or No Deal. No skill involved, it's all luck, no basis of any kind of 'system' or 'mthod' makes a jot of difference.

Anyone on here been on one? What did you win?

I've always thought about giving one a go, but never actually gone as far as applying hehe

The wife has applied for a couple, going back a few years now so I can't remember which ones.

We didn't get anywhere however I don't think I would have the balls to actually go ahead and do it if called up.

The wife's Uncle got selected for Come Dine With Me, in the end he declined as he didn't want strangers wandering around upstairs going through his drawers, as they do.

I'd love to do Come Dine With Me.

Chicken Dippers and McCain Microwave fries, or something similar. Just to see their faces.

I have mentioned to my girlfriend to apply for Come Dine With Me, as she is one of those who naturally can cook and makes lovely meals with whatever the kitchen has to offer.

A mate of a mate ended up on Tool Academy and was proud of that fact. laugh

No as would be too scared that I would make myself look stupid.... I can do that almost every day without the need to appear on a TV game show!

I have however been on TV a couple of times - in 'The Cage' on TisWas for those old enough to remember such mental Saturday TV shows (not to mention Sally James in her thigh high boots or the lunatic otherwise known as Lenny Henry.......).

Happy memories of promising my mum that I would behave.... Not really possible when Mr Henry was in one of his 'playful' moods with those of us who used to stupidly agree to spend 3 hours locked in a cage.....

When playing DOND there is skill required. Working out the average of what's left and balancing this against what the banker is offering, and then working out the odds of taking out what's left. Used to watch it ages ago and was always amazed with people continuing when all the odds said take the offer, all because they had a feeling....

Games shows get on my tits now, has anyone ever noticed the really over false reasoning of an answer when presented with a multiple choice of answers:

"Well Jim it can't be A as well I think I would know if it was A and it doesn't just fit quite right with me, it's definately not C because it just doesn't sound right being C and anyway if it was C he wasn't alive in that era so no it's definatley not C"

"As for B and D, mmmmmm, I'm not sure, mmmmm, well B is an artist that I know well and I don't think he painted that, however I could be wrong as he went through a different phase of interpretation in the late 1800's, I think, mmmm, it's D definately D, oh hold on a minute, ummmm, oh I'm not so sure now"

"Nope it's definately D"

They never used to do all this reasoning, it was always, "it's D Jim"

A friend got through to the last 8 selected to go on The Cube. He had to go for some sort of interview, then again for a screen test, before finally being told he was unsuccessful. Think it left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth, after he had to take time off work to attend etc.

I haven't ever considered it, but my Dad was on The Great British Quiz, or something like that, a good 29 years ago now.

Another friend of mine was on Big Brother - what a disaster that was!!!

When has this ever happened?

I thought the most the banker ever offers is the average of the remaining boxes, and this is has only been a couple of times as a sign of respect to the previous "no deals".

Chap today dealt at 9k but carried on as he would have. Ended up with £750 and £250,000 and the final offer was £66k. He had the £250k in his box all along. Gutted.

Not meaning to be obstuse, but is that a direct reply to my question, or just a DOND story? smile

I liked fifteen to one. Far better than some of the crap these days.

A friend of Mrs Puggit is on Come Dine With Me today. The Swindon one - she's a kitchenware consultant hehe

Apparently she got so drunk she dropped her mic down the loo - hope they show that bit.

Ever met her? She seems as mad as a box of frogs.

A mate of mine was on total wipeout, she made it to the final narrowly missing out on winning it.

Go to the BBC tickets webpage and go and see one filmed first, it might make you decide to go for it. As you know how it all works and feels in the studio before taking part it might make you more relaxed and successful.
