Just watched a re-run of the Inbetweeners on E4. Far too funny and Mr. Gilbert is my role model.

The last scene got me thinking though.......

It was in a layby on a dual carriageway and there were a lot of cars going past, in particular a bright orange fast and furious type car (possibly Supra)stood out.

Has your car been on tv??

Not so much the PHer who bought the Mustang from Mike Brewer; that's cheating. More like "I was driving along this road and I realised they were filming an episode of Hunted and then i saw my car in an episode"

obviously pictures will help this thread

My old car was in a clip about a women found dead on her drive a few days ago. Although was on the local newspaper website, not the TV.

Yep. Got approached at a Tunnel Run by a chap who had a mate who worked for ITV. They were looking for a 911 like mine for a documentary.

I ended up going down to film on location in Poole, at and around a luxury flat and the surrounding area. Chosen because it looked a bit like Japan, where the docu was about. I was only there a few hours, they did some drive-by stuff and some static stuff of the actor and actress chatting in the car.

I got to enjoy some filming and being told about some of the tehnical stuff by the ever-cheerful director and camermen, got fed lunch, and paid £150. Nice biggrin

It was for an ITV documentary series called 'Real Crimes', and my one was 'Death of a Hostess' - about the disappearance of Lucie Blackman, for those that remember it. Shame it was for a sad story frown

Still, my car is a star!!!

Not me but next door neighbour...

A couple of years ago the BBC were filming a news piece on Bristol becoming a cycling city. Short piece with a woman on a bike riding towards the camera and around a mini roudabout. Said neighbour drives up behind cyclist and then overtakes her over the mini roundabout.

Saw it on the news and went round to give him grief!

Not yet, but my old 850R was bought by the BBC for inclusion in the next series of Top Gear, one of their epic spec challenges to foreign lands. I'll be watching from behind the sofa in case they do one of those forensic check spec segments like they did with the 3 series convertables... could take some explaining to the missus "Yes, we found blonde hair" as a frying pan comes hurtling towards my face before I have the chance to remind her the previous owner had a Golden Retriever.

I was having a driving lesson in Ledbury when I noticed a Range Rover with the boot open and man hanging out the back with a camera, following was a Pink Convertible Micra, the driver had a paper bag over his head. A few months later when watching Top Gear it all became clear!

Saw somebody being interviewed by a TV crew so slowed my van down and got some free advertising as I cruised along behind them.

Not TV but my O/H is immortalised on Google Street View outside our house in her car. I was a bit too slow otherwise you'd have seen me mooning at the kitchen window.

My trusty old Allegro will 'hit or screens' next spring in a 1970s film called 'Northern Soul', based on, of all things, Northern Soul.

Bit of static, bit of drive-by, bit of me picking up a girl outside The Wigan Casio nightclub.

Can't resize images for PH so I've uploaded a couple of shots here...

Not my car however I sold a Grand Scenic that was in a Direct Line TV ad, to a friend.

We are not far from Shepperton Studios and we went through a period, a couple of years ago, hiring out a few used cars when they were filming Direct Line TV ads.

They were the ads with that really annoying shouty posh man who did the Pimms ads too, he had a moustache in the Direct Line ads.

Yes, precisely that scenario. I saw the TV cameras as I drove past but didn't know what was being filmed. I thought nothing of it, knowing that the odds of me coming across the final product were tiny, but - by chance - I was watching a documentary about Jews in North London about 6 months later and saw my 944 sailing through the shot!

Me and my Volvo V70 were on used car Roadshow with 'forever friends faced' Jason Dawe. Me and my MX-5 were on Men & Motors' production of the Scumball Rally quite a bit which seems to get repeated now and then. Me and a MK2 Gti were on Central News, and I once lovingly stroked a weathergirl's face on live TV. I've used the word felch on BBC radio too but that wasn't car-related. smile

My parents old VW Polo was on an episode of Police, Camera, Action back in the 90's. Someone stole a beer truck and went on a joy ride with BIB in pursuit and they drove past my parents house.

I went to school with the brother of the guy who did it, and it aired after he was released from prison, aparently his family had a party to celebrate his new found fame.

My old MX-5 was used for a demonstration of the differences between a road MX-5 and a race MX-5 on the Ma5da Racing coverage.

That's now my actual car, that is. Not quite telly though.
