Had heard nothing about this, but I just started watching it after Grand Designs.

Really impressed - in fact I watched it all the way through, which is very very rare for me on a C4 show. I always record them and FFW through the ads, but this kept me interested enough to wait those agonising 3 mins.

For those who don't know, it's a UK political drama starring Gabriel Byrne as a deputy PM in a time when there are lots of bad things happening. Excellent supporting cast including Charles Dance.

If you saw it - what did you think? If you didn't - give it a go.

Not long finished watching the first episode. So far so good. You can see where they took some of the idea from for the series.

Enjoyed it. I expect the Byrne character to come out of his shell and kick some arse (metaphorically) as he seems quite subdued now but has a military background.
I hope!

I liked it - quite dark and brooding.

I like byrne in pretty much everything he has done, In Treatment, Usual suspects (towering performance in that), even great as the devil in End of Days (an under-rated film imho)

more of this type of drama please..

Ta for that!
Watched the first ep this week, wow it was good.

This is one area where UK drama can beat US drama. Serious conspiracy style government drama.
I'd rather have this than 24.biggrin

I cannot watch American programmes - I just cannot stand the way they speak in whispers.

Another good episode, 'tis gently coming to the boil.

Well I spent all last week and all tonight's ep thinking 'this feels like an updated version of A Very British Coup' which isn't surprising as the first line of the credits is inspired by A Very British Coup!

Love it - gripping, intriguing in a, "Would they? What will the do next? What will happen to..?" way and very well acted.

Sadly as with most UK drama, it is short, 4 episodes.

For those of you who like this, further watching could be;
The State Within
Edge Of Darkness
Natural Lies
