Top Gear Volvo 850

Hey there Buddies, I hope you've had a great Christmas and a Great start to the new year. Well last year I came across a thread where it was mentioned that there is a Top Gear Challenge where Jeremy C has purchased a Volvo 850 to participate in the challenge.

I cannot recall if it has already been screened or not. So I was wondering has it been shown?
If it has can you please attach a link where I can watch it or if not do you know when it will be screened?


Final question, was there a Top Gear Special this Christmas/new year as I wasn't aware that there is going to be as there was a lack of advertisements!

They didnt do a special this year. I think they said they were concentrating on making a decent series to be aired this year.

The only Volvo im aware of was the 760 used in the £100 challenge.

There was no Christmas Special screened in 2012 other than repeats, the Christmas special is actually being shown in Febuary...I know.
I think the Volovo is in the Africa Challenge 3 cars taken to Africa bought on the internet. Hammond has a Subaru for sure the others i'm not too sure on.

Yup... 5 series touring, Impreza Turbo wagon and an 850R estate went to Africa with the Top Gear team to look for the source of the Nile. Been quite a few people commenting on various forums saying it was a T5-R or a V70 T5 and so on but it's definitely a 1995 855R estate auto, in Olive Green. O/s/f wing has a bit rust, n/s/r wheel is kerbed (my missus can't reverse park to save herself) and there's maybe CD2 from the "Ibiza Classics" album in the changer. If so, I'd like it back!!

Clearing your name early on so when the producers leave embarrassing things in there that supposedly belonged to the previous owner you can fall back on this thread as some sort of evidence

Shame your ex-850R has now been utterly destroyed for the sake of Flop Gear. Pity they couldn't have tested the cars against each other in a more informative and interesting way, rather than just smash up three good cars.
