Was watching this tonight and it did make me chuckle when the narrator gives it large about how fast all the cars in their fleet are.

I am sure there are plenty of motors out there that can out run an Imprezza or Evo!

They were chasing down an Audi RS4…He was just playing with them! I'm pretty sure a standard RS4 would leave an Imprezza standing let alone if it had been modified in any way!

The irony is that it doesn't matter how fast your car is, all you have to do is drive dangerously and they call off the chase.

Are those performance police cars modified?

I seemed to think the old Volvo T5s were tuned a bit.

The Evo was an FQ-360, I don't think an RS4 would "leave it standing". Besides, they can always call a chopper wink

Well not standing but the narrator who sounds a bit of a 'geezer' init, does make out they are complete rocket ships!

They are compared to the Corsas that the target audience drives smile

I was stopped a few months back and the police confessed the only way to catch me if I had made off and didn't crash was a chopper.

Their advantage is their four wheel drive…I will confess 140mph in my car on a curve and my butt would be twitching!

I know what you are saying about performance OP, but you have to factor in driving ability too.

A chav that steals an M3 wouldn't be able to drive as fast as a driving god like a PHer.

Struggling to take the OP seriously, when he misspells Impreza.

The Evo 9 MR does 0-60 in 3.9 secs has a top speed of 155 has excellent handling in all weather conditions and you can stick a couple of robbers in the back. In the right hands its gonna catch the vast majority of cars on the road, and it's cheap.

Sorry...I guess I am spelling phonetically like the wide boy 'geeza init bruv' they use to narrate the programme.

Simple fact is that the police can always get someone else in front of you regardless how fast you go, best bet is to decamp within the first 10mins of a chase starting before the police can get the chopper overhead or any dogs into the area then you always have a chance of disappearing.

I am always wound-up by the ridiculously dumbed-down commentary on repeats of 'Road Wars'. Shouldnt watch, but its a little like something distasteful on the pavement - you know better than to look, but you just cant help it.

Where does one watch this show? Or should we file them under content relevant forums?

There have been some unbelievably lame moderating decisions made recently, even if this is justifiable.

If you move everything that you can from GG a TL, for whatever tenuous reason, then you end up with the principal forums full of insipid rubbish.

My favourite moderating fail recently came when someone moved a question about pressure sensitive adhesive (in this instance on an optical disc) to Home Cinema!

Well I appreciate the thread is titled "Police Interceptors on T.V" but I'd say the main focus of this thread is to discuss whether or not a FQ-360 would keep up with an RS4 which is surely much more of a topic for GG?

Just means fewer people see it that's all smile

To be honest, a rocket is a good explanation of the two. Hardly anything on the road standard is as competent at going fast.

Hardly anything does not mean nothing.
