SENNA...the film

I've seen it several times but I just watched this with my 8 year old (F1 Fanatic) son.....
he wept like a baby when Senna's funeral scenes were played.
'Is he with God now Dad?' he asked.
I don't know son, but what I do know is that if Ayrton Senna could see you now he would say "Don't cry for me, just live your life, be happy and work hard for your dreams whatever they are"
He then went to bed and said "When Nigel Mansell was World Champion why did he have a moustache???"

I recently watched some YouTube footage of the great man qualifying a 1.5 turbo monster around Monaco. Awe inspiring and confirms why, to me at least, he was the greatest ever F1 driver.
Yeah I hear where you are coming from with that one.My only reservation is that I'm not old enough to truly understand what the early (Fangio era etc) drivers were up against. Agricultural cars, trees at the side of the road, t-shirts for safety, banked circuits etc. So personally I reserve my opinion to Senna being the greatest since the 1970's.

I'd agree, there's a lot of flannel about how amazing this film was and I actually bought it, but I must say it's hardly illuminating in any way.Flawed documentary.
Bit of nostalgia (although very light on the significant races of his career), but not the film the hype suggests.
Actually, I reckon I wasted my money on the DVD - There I've said it

I bought the film and quite enjoyed it, but did feel conned having bought it on Blu-ray, only to find the entire film is made up of grainy tv clips. I obviously expected the clips to be poor quality due to the era, but there was no fresh filming of the commentators etc at all, it's just a VoiceOver over the clips!

Victim? The only time Prost played "victim" was calling foul on the Honda help/preference to Senna and that was true. Or is this going to be another "Prost and Balestre were both French, the FIA is French, so Prost used them to gang up against Senna" false load of drivel?
I sometimes wonder if people actually remember this era or just remember Senna and then everything else was related just to his orbit.
I always find it laughably moronic when people try and suggest Ballestre and Prost were ever allies in anything. They still cant stand to be in the same room as each other. Before the rapprochement between Senna and Prost, JM was the only thing they did agree on!

Regardless of that Prost was a whinging little ass-wipe. Have you forgotten the strife he created at Ferrari when he realised that a certain brummie was quicker than he was?
I can clearly recall the era & i certainly don't view Senna through rose tinted glasses. He was a flawed genius, we all know that, & I know how ruthless he was, however Prost was worse! IMO anyway.
