I've just finished The Sopranos... Now what?
Discussion
I know, I know... I'm 5 years late with The Sopranos, but I never thought I had time for shows like that, or would even enjoy them, until pretty much everyone I know said I HAD TO watch it, and my brother lent me the full box set.
Anyway, within a few episodes I was totally 100% hooked, and me and the girlfriend managed to plough through at least 2 episodes most days until the whole 86 episodes had been watched. Loved the complex social and family matters, power struggles, the violence, the really sweary bits... everything really.
So now I know I clearly have time for boxsets or downloaded series
But what next?
Throw some suggestions at me!

When I finished the Sopranos my life felt a bit empty........ as sad as that sounds
Like you I watched on average 2 episodes a night
Then.......nothing
Breaking Bad is fairly awesome........like omg....seriously good, and its finishing this year
oh yes lets not forget The Wire....excellent. Dont let the first few episodes put you off, its great

I can completely sympathise!Like you I watched on average 2 episodes a night
Then.......nothing

People were telling me that they were rushing home from work just so they could start watching the next episode etc and I just thought they were mental.
But after blasting through the entire box set and squeezing in episodes every day, we just didn't know what to watch when we finished! It was like there was nothing on TV worth watching, and that there was something missing because we didn't get to see Tony Soprano that day!
Imo, not much that matches the Sopranos for screenplay and layers of story and complexity...
I'd try:
I'd try:
- Deadwood (initially almost on the verge of being impenetrable, but it's quite quite brilliant)
- Game Of Thrones
- The Wire
- Breaking Bad
- Southland (superb cop drama, recently been cancelled
) - Boardwalk Empire (almost so much like Sopranos that you kind of how much it doesn't quite match the Sopranos. Amazing feeling of 1920s America)
- West Wing (one of the best TV shows ever made imo. Superb screenplay)
- Treme (slightly out-of-the-box choice but it has real charm and power)

'Pine Barrens' is quite possibly the best hour of TV drama/entertainment I have ever seen
