Films that don't seem to get shown...

It may be that I am just missing them, but I seem to see the same films being shown time and time again on TV, but some films that I have fond memories of never seem to get a look in. Two examples off the top of my head would be 'Condorman' and 'The Black Hole'.

Anyone seen these on TV recently?

What might be the reason for not showing them?

Any way of finding out when last shown or when will be next shown?


Now I'm thinking about it, I can't remember the original three Star Wars films (aka the good ones) being on recently either.

These seem to come on every 3rd or 4th Christmas. Despite being old, I's guess they still cost a lot to broadcast, unless there's a new one the studio is trying to promote of course...

The Party. Peter Sellers browns-up to play Hrundi V. Bakshi. Think TV execs maybe shying away from this one. Pity, its a great film and even has a Morgan 3 wheeler featuring.

Phantom menace was on last sunday, attack of the clones is on this sunday (itv3), so you never know, the 3 good stars wars films might follow in about 2 weeks.

He might mean before they were bastardised improved edited by George Lucas.

I have the 3 unmolested original films. Safe from his clutches.

The black hole was on last week. I watched it still a fabulous film. Only disney film I like.

I think viewing habits have changed and with Sky movies, choice is vast. I remember that whenever there was a 'big' film on BBC or ITV, it was a quite a big deal. These days, they tend to get shoved on BBC3.

I'd be interested to know if the original, originals are still available to broadcasters to use.

It would be just like Lucasarts to destroy the original versions.

'The Siege' with Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis. Didn't get great ratings but I've always liked it and keep waiting for it to appear on tv so that I can record it - but I haven't seen it shown for years.

The amount of st films they show on Sky Movies is ridiculous.

1 in 10 is worth watching and they repeat A LOT.

loads that they dont show
i love many of the old black and whites
but the slightly more modern stuff you would expect more off such as

Sleepers
Ronin
reservoir dogs
true romance

'Saving Grace' - was shown once on mainstream tv but don't think its been on again. Probably to do with encouraging the wrong type of horticulture amongst our ageing population. But it's what I've got planned for my retirement.

I've seen this a lot on the MGM Movie channel lately. He's brilliant in it, innit.
