In the final episode of series 13 at the end Clarkson drives a lovely white Aston Martin Vantage to a lovely piece of music. One of my all time favourite top gear moments. I'm trying to find out where this was filmed as I'd love to go there, anyone have an idea as to where this was filmed?

Can't help you on location, surely Scotland or Wales though I'd assume?

The song is 'An Ending (Ascent)' by Brian Eno though in case anyone is wondering wink

Here's the clip in case it helps:

I've watched that video far too many times smile great song (also in 28 days later) goes so well to the scenery, car and what Clarksons talking about. Great.

Filmed on a number of roads in North Wales, the B4391, B4407, B4501 etc - to be honest the clips jump about quite a bit location wise

Was this the big metaphor about there possibly being no more top gear, after he had started rumours there was going to be no more top gear to get a pay rise?

<pedant>So does the audio - the same audio track of the engine is played for several different clips of the car.</pedant>

Yes, it was an edited version of the track.

The deer weren't real either

Are you thinking of the bit he did when was reunited with his old Escort Cosworth maybe?

I'm pretty sure not. I was last up Buttertubs only a couple of weeks ago and it's much narrower and steeper and slower than in that clip.

Yes, think I was wrong there.
