Rush - James Hunt - Nicki Lauda

Any one else looking forward to seeing this new film which is due out in the next 10 days I believe.

With Ron Howard at the helm it should hopefully be very good. But such a shame that James Hunt sadly died so young.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it. I still remember watching some of the '76 season even though I was only 6 at the time! My brother, father and I were transfixed.

Only thing that puts me off slightly is that the trailer looks to be CGI heavy. Hope the film has e decent level of realism.

Am very much looking forward to the film. Read the 22page Hunt review in Motorsport with some interesting observations. Anyone who's a Hunt fan should enjoy the film but may be not the way it depicts the relationship between Hunt and Lauda. As an 11year old boy I have vivid memories of 1976 including the great races at Brands and Fuji. Now a little older I'm able to understand and appreciate the exploits of Hunt and Sheene; christ these guys knew how to live. If anyone's yet to read the book Hunt, try to do so before seeing the film. This is one book that should be on every PH'ers bookshelf.

Just got back... Howard did not disappoint....fantastic film..... Brilliantly shot, fantastic story.... and Hemsworth and Bruhl were very well cast... 10/10 IMHO (an opinion shared by the mrs)

There have been quite a few threads dating right back to 2011, but I was referring to the first "new" thread started yesterday just before this one.

Anyway, one of the old ones has been resurrected so it's take your pick time.
