"Entertaintment" is now some talentless idiot, covered in goo and maggots, miming to third rate songs whilst an American D-list "celebrity" tries to guess the track.

Absolutely tragic, yet wife and child think its hilarious.

I would say that I am perhaps more concerned about whats going on in Syria and the Philippines in terms of humanity, not some frivolous nonsense on ITV, the fact you are sat, able to complain about it means things arent that bad.

I pull a face at that programme but actually found myself laughing at it when the bloke that shouts at Chavs in the morning was gagging on some horror on a plate, Eastenders is the one that worries me.

I actually couldn't care less about far flung areas of the world, I gave up caring about all that years ago.

However, I do agree about Eastenders. Does anyone actually have a 'normal' 9-5 job?

I watched it last night, for the first time, with GF and her family.
While I agree that it's the fking devil, I did enjoy the trials bit where they had mostly harmless insects put in their orifices. I don't have a clue who most of them are, and the mundane "highlights of the day" type stuff was just painful.
On the plus side 15p(?) per vote goes to charity, so it's helping the world a fair bit more than trashy soaps and dramas do.

You think that's a bad attitude? I'm old enough to have seen it all happen before and to see that nothing changes. There's nothing I can do to either stop it happening again or help out now.

So I decided several years ago to stop consciously watching the news, or following it.

It's as much of no relevance to my life as mine is to it on the whole.

Last night there was a shot of him which made me chuckle, it was this blank stare that just screamed "what am I doing here"

That's his normal expression; have you ever watched him play snooker?

Should this not be in the TV Forum?

And if a person thinks the world is doomed because of the nature of a rubbish TV programme, may I suggest that they may have a rather skewed view of what matters in life?

I'm guessing budfox was applying a degree of tongue-in-cheekery when he chose the thread title.

Perhaps.

In see the thread was moved to a more appropriate home too - so PH towers reckoned it wasn't "Newsworthy".
