Having surgery on Saturday and will be off work a couple of weeks. Would like to watch something good from a tv series. Maybe game of thrones which I got on dvd. Love the foreign police dramas. Any ideas.

Game of Thrones is a good bet if you don't mind having to hide your hard-on under the hospital blankets.. you wouldn't watch it with your parents...

breaking bad is great.

ps. what op are you having, otherwise why post in the health section?

Health because it was to do with recouperating...only in hospital one night but at home bored recovering for up to 2 weeks. Seen breaking bad..excellent. Might give game of thrones a shot.

GOTs is good... but lots of characters, I found it a bit confusing. Worth fully reading the episode synopsis as you go along.

Just make sure you don't watch game of thrones with the wife/mum, etc. Some of the scenes are just softcore pr0n.

The Wire is also amazing if you haven't seen that.

Southland is a good police series if you like that sort of thing. Elementary is a quirky twist on Sherlock Holmes set in New York. Person of Interest is ok.

You've just about done with your cool foreign police stuff then I think

I am currently watching Underbelly on Netflix.
It is an Australian drama based on true events, of the Melbourne underworld exploding into an orgy of killings in the 90s/00s.
Just finished series 1 and absolutely loved it as it was gritty, real, and with good characters and unknown actors.
We seem to have similar tastes so I would highly recommend it.

Breaking Bad is a must.

I have to admit to having only just starting The Wire. Just finished season 3, if you haven't seen it, do it.

If you haven't seen them the first series of both Homeland and Boardwalk Empire are fantastic. The 3 (BE) and 2 (H) series that have followed have been good but the first were excellent.

If you haven't seen The Sopranos the box set will give you 86 hours of the best tv you will ever see.

Underbelly is superb, as are the 2 or 3 follow up series.

I'm of the opposite opinion on BE. I felt the first series was decent, a worthy B, but something was missing. I thought the building tensions of S2 into the awesome finale crescendo of S3 was most excellent.
