We cinema admirers often trying to find interesting things about films we liked. And many happen to prove that. So share yours, what first pops in to you mind

Not the best, but I'll share this for the moment: Director Francis Ford Coppola explains on the DVD commentary that Mina and Harker's wedding was a reshoot done at a Los Angeles Greek Orthodox church. They filmed the entire ceremony with a genuine Orthodox minister and realized afterwards that Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves really were married.

Up to you! smile

Only thing that springs to mind is that - one of the finest and most versatile actors of a generation Gary Oldman is Laila Morse's Brother, aka 'Big Mo' from Eastenders.

Pete Jackson appeares in all three loTR movies but only in the second Hobbit movie.

he is also the Santa stabbing incident in Hot Fuzz (it was on TV last night which reminded me).

Kate Blanchett is also in Hot Fuzz as Nicholas's ex (her of the stunning blue eyes behind the mask).

The yacht in Duran Duran's 'Her Name Is Rio' video was restored by the old man and filmed outside our old house.

In the background is an iron-hulled Brixham Trawler I worked on in the school holidays.

And Bob Holness played the saxophone solo on Gerry Raferty's "Baker Street".....
(Richard Madeley is a Captain in the SAS Reserves too)

The story about Bob Holness and the Sax is made up.
Bob was interviewed on the radio about it a couple of years back.

The Turin Traffic centre in the original (only one worth mentioning in my opinion) was actually in the UK. It was the DER building on the old DER Roundabout in Hounslow.
In one scene, they had to pull the power to the building, what they did not know, was that external companies rented computing time from their mainframe computers overnight, all of which powered off when they pulled the plug.
Funny that I passed that building many many times in my youth, but never realised it was in one of my favourite films.

I cannot recall it, and I'm regular over this section. If there was one, it probably was long time ago

Fair enough.....
Most of the German tanks in A Bridge Too Far were plywood mock-ups built on Land Rover Series IIIs.

On the set of Mortdecai, Johnny Depp would bring his personal DJ to filming each day complete with full set - mixers, turntables, lighting etc and get him to set up in a separate room.

He would then have his own personal playlist fed into his earphones between takes.

The scene in the Bond film where the BMW jumps from the multi storey car park is one hell of a jump as the car park is at Brentford and the car lands in the front of an avis rental shop in Amsterdam.

The Goldenye yacht from the film ended up in a boatyard in Germany being re-powered when the boatyard wnet bust and a legal battle ensues for control over it. It was auctioned in the German Court in Southern Germany and sold to the engine supplier who had a mortgage on it. It sold for peanuts as it was in such poor shape with most of the back end cut away.

When Anton Rogers the police chief in the Michael Caine Steve Martin film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is following Freddy (Steve) around to show one of the women what a cheat he is, the music playing is the theme music to his ITV sitcom Fresh Fields.

Saves starting a new thread.

Just realised thread is from 2014!

No matter, interesting subject anyway...

Anne Bancroft was only about 9 years older than her ‘daughter’ Katherine Ross in The Graduate. No matter how old I get she’ll always be an older woman to me!

Similar story in the Indiana Jones film where Sean Connery played Harrison Ford’s dad despite being only 12 years his senior.

Prize to the first person to mention both the above being normal today in Broken Britain, council etc.

Of the 107 episodes of The Saint made between 1962 and 1969, Anton Rogers appeared as a guest star in 324 of them.

The car park chase scenes were filmed in the Brent Cross multi storey.

Van Morrison was born in a gym, Jim Morrison was born in a van.

Gary Oldman is 2 weeks younger than Gary Numan.
