They're probably just trying to inject something different into the format, or something, I dunno
Yeah, I love Countryfile too - can't say exactly why though? I guess it's because it's a generally easy watch, a nice, peaceful, inoffensive programme - and I love our countryside too, so it ticks a lot of boxes.
Oh yeah, one other thing.

She reminds me of Gladstone Small - several vertebrae short in the neck!

Small but perfectly formed, I would say. She's a little unconventional, I will grant you that, and can look a wee bit awkward at times. However, to me that gives her a bit of a quirky, different nature, which I find quite adorable! It's easy to fancy the obvious, glamourous women - another thing to appreciate the quirks of girls like Ellie though I reckon

Much better!Ellie Harrison is possibly the most all-round attractive woman on tv at the moment, topping Susanna Reid and Rachel Riley purely because she's outdoorsy and seems like an awesome, sweet person.

That's a mighty impressive leap - does Julia Bradbury remind you of Lynford Christie?Countryfile has become just another BBC approved outlet for a particular view of rural life, majoring on current trendy ishoos and ignoring anything that doesn't meet it's agenda.
I did catch the violin thing - where's Harry Hill's TV Burp or Screenwipe when you need them? And what would birds/bats make of the fishing line strung between branches?

I bet you're all into dwarf porno too.
Everyone is secretly into dwarfs! See:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/s...

Time for a thread resurrection?
Notwithstanding tonight's special edition, but has anyone else lost interest in this BBC program?
When it began I recall the series was all about country life and the characters and animals that dwell in the wilds of our diverse environment. Recent years of production have featured dire warnings of environmental disaster and other misery which presenters such as Tom Heap seem to excel at!
Offsetting the misery with pretty girls doesn't cut it IMO and the BBC would be serving the customer better with intelligent interviews and cut out the 'townie' perspective of the countryside!
And don't get me started on the emotional soundtrack ...

Countryfile - can't be bothered with it anymore after years of watching
Gardeners World - they've tried very hard this year but it's format is struggling with regular enviromental and health issues. There's only so many times they can cover planting up planters and bulbs
Beechgrove - like an amateur GW now Jim is no longer there
Landward - still trying and possibly the best of the 4 but still getting environmental articles rammed down or necks
Maybe it's me...

It's emotionally manipulative dog s
t. The One Show with a few fields, trees and sheep chucked in.
It was never prime-time fare IMO. It was always a Sunday morning program before little house on the prairie, politics, and endless eastenders re-runs That's not to say I never found it mildly diverting, or interesting, in its previous incarnation.
Now I record it, and FFWD through the muck to get to the weather.
