Cocks on the telly ?
Discussion
I didn't see it, apparently there was a Penis shown in War and Peace on the BBC (acronym not that accurate it seems....)

So, wonder how many are outraged at this, a Penis on the BBC only 24 minutes after the watershed.
Are we still quite prudish as a nation, what should be acceptable ?
Who is it that gets outraged at a glimpse of a penis ?

I'm involved with the management of a Community Radio station. Last year, we had a band in for a live session that went out on a Sunday afternoon. During the set, the host of the show led the conversation down a "who's a leg man then?" - sparked by one of the songs they played being a thrash-metal cover of the ZZ Top song: 'legs'. The conversation opened in to a rather cheeky area - but nothing offensive and certainly within the context of the show.
One person complained to OfCom that sparked an investigations - from which we were totally cleared. The person at OfCom we were dealing with mentioned that there are people out there that pro-actively look for things to be offended by.

I am very proud to say I had something like 20 complaints to OFCOM about a live broadcast myself and a co-present her hosted.
None of the complaints were successful.
The subsequent Sony Gold Bronze and Arqiva awards were nice.
As the guy above says there are the professionally offended. A woman with breast cancer complained once about the fact we covered a pink ribbon event.
A woman with a ginger child complained about a comment about being ginger made by a workmate on air. I asked her to log onto her profile on the website before getting too angry. The presenter in question is superbly wonderfully and very ginger.
I had a convicted sex offender threaten me with OFCOM because we covered a court case about him being a nonce. We didn't call him a nonce. "Good luck with that one pal." Was my response.
I think so long as the cock in question was flaccid and the scene wasn't some sort of Bukkake fest money shot extravaganza, then there really should be no problem.

I just watched the clip - I reckon it's probably in shot for less than a second. Sub second floppy cock exposure and the Daily Mail melts down!
The same Daily Mail whose website is essentially softcore pron (but it's ok, because they only show pictures of scantily clad women).TTwiggy said:

The same Daily Mail whose website is essentially softcore pron (but it's ok, because they only show pictures of scantily clad women).About half the population has one and looks at it every day - a fairly large proportion of the other half have seen or touched one and probably do so on a fairly regular basis.
Seriously - some people need to get a grip. It wasn't as if they showed a closeup of a raging hardon during the One Show......

That would probably get even more complaints.Seriously - some people need to get a grip. It wasn't as if they showed a closeup of a raging hardon during the One Show......

Besides, every hand you've ever shaken has probably had a knob in it. It's how long prior to the handshake that's the important bit.

That's the watershed doing what it should then. I saw the programme last night, I had mentioned it to the missus, she was going to watch it anyway but was then waiting for the offending article, she was disappointed "looks a bit like yours", er, yep, thats what they look like, generally unremarkable, unless you are on a bus.
