Her and her family are in reality famous for being famous. The Kardashian's brand is huge and now they have huge empire covering clothes, make-up, reality TV. They make millions and millions, and can put their name to anything and it sells. She even had an app game which made her tons of cash. Plus being married to Kayne West means you get some publicity.
Technically she has no real talent, but in this day and age you dont need to and still make money.

Her fame baffles me too, this sort of famous for being famous thing should have died out 10 years ago, I seem to recall we suffered in Britain from a huge amount of WAGS/former glamour models/lord only knows 'celebrities' but then come the credit crunch there was a huge back-lash against "bling culture" of which they were a big part and they all buggered off for the most part.

They had Kendal and Kylie together, and then they split and Bruce became Catlin Jenner. The Kardashian's where always known in the US because of their father and his friendship with OJ. Kim started off being a PA to Paris Hilton, and after the sex tape with Ray J the family name was brought back to the spotlight. I think they where one of the first families to have their own reality tv show and it became a huge success. They have a huge brand now and several businesses which are successful. Kendal is a successful runway model and i think tries to keep her distance a little bit from the family name as I believe in certain circles 'high fashion' its not liked. Kylie on the other hand is becoming the next Kim.

My wife also seems to love the show they are on, as do my sisters. I personally can't stand it.
However, I am quite content that they get none of my money (except, whatever token amount the E News channel gets from my Sky subscription) but have still managed to get themselves to being mega rich and will probably remain so.
