Gil Godot is stunning, and well cast. But the rest of the movie, the plot and supporting cast, is very much second rate. David Thewlis as Ares? Fine actor but not the best casting for the god of war.
Seems that the critics love it, much like La La Land, and that it's trendy to like this movie because 'girl power'.
DC still suck and can't make a good movie

Well it would appear that you're in the minority with your review. Casting Thewlis was s great choice IMO, it would've been very easy to cast someone typically large, threatening and scary but he played it very menacing and imposing despite being physically not so. Seems that the critics love it, much like La La Land, and that it's trendy to like this movie because 'girl power'.

Very enjoyable.
I agree with the poster above - it echoes the original Captain America movie, maybe because of the wartime setting yes, but also in that I liked how the "superhero" bit didn't overshadow the "human" aspect of it as well, it wasn't just a superhero movie for the sake of it in my opinion, they got a good balance between it all in my opinion.
Plus, Gal Gadot does suit that costume, which was a visual bonus for sure!

Film sounds like a good bit of frivolous entertainment, but obviously there are the usual killjoys:

Watched it lastnight, and as above, it's one of the best DC films outside the Nolan Batman films. Went a bit standard superhero big fight towards the end, but pretty good overall. There are no extra bits in the end credits, but when I saw the cast list and Etta Candy - Lucy Davis... whaaa? Isn't she Dawn from The Office? Jasper Carrott's daughter? Really? Yeah it was. She sort of looked familiar but I didn't make the connection watching the film.
It’s the first DC film since Dark Night Rises that I didn’t hate. Most of it worked well, except perhaps the final battle, which was yet another night time CGI fest. However in this case it didn’t irk me as much as usual.
Gal Gadot carried the film well. Perfect mix of exotic beauty, femininity and kick-ass amazon. (I liked the “aww, look, a baby” moment.) Chris Pine and the supporting cast all did a good job.
I did guess that David Thewlis was Ares before he’d finished his opening ‘armistice’ speech. It seemed obvious that the God of War would be hiding behind the guise of a peacemaker.
7/10 and a thumbs up from me.
PS.
Dear Warner brothers, please make a film set entirely on Themyscira. You can do a “Rogue One” style film that ends up with the birth of baby Diana. Or any story you like, so long as we get a couple of hours on Paradise Island

DC in particular do seem to enjoy doing this. I was one of the few who really enjoyed Suicide Squad...until the final act which was just ridiculously over the top CG nonsense (and not great CG either). BvS was similar but the appearance of Wonder Woman salvaged it a little.I find it a little odd that DC is regarded as the much stronger of the two universes in terms of bag guys, yet all of the DCU baddies have been pretty much forgettable so far.

Ha ha! I like that.
I think I've worked out their master plan. Keep making crap movies, but throw in a good one now and then to keep the punters coming back for more.
I'm not sure if it matters. BvS made $873m, which I guess is understandable given the characters, but even Suicide Squad made $745m. I think I've worked out their master plan. Keep making crap movies, but throw in a good one now and then to keep the punters coming back for more.
