Didn't see any topic on this yet - is no one watching?

Its bloody brilliant, set in late 20s Berlin with fantastic sets / clothes and so far (I am 6 in to series 1) it is enthralling - think political intrigue, communist plots, detectives and a smattering of filth

warning - its in German with subtitles

Yes, just finished Series 1. Thought it was excellent.
The dance hall scene in episode 2 was weirdly hypnotic/mesmerising nuts
NSFW!

It's on Sky Atlantic.

The underwater car scene is hard viewing. I'm a strong swimmer but I could only watch thru my fingers with hands over my eyes.

I've just finished the second series. Agreed about the car scene! eek

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Seems they need the nod from a network to make another.

I think we should make special mention for the the lifts in the police station. They were like non-stop dumb waiters!

season 2 finished - highly recommended

excellent acting and production, great sleuthing and tension, and I loved the 1920s Berlin backdrop and the pre-Hitler tensions

I've not seen the show, but it sounds like you might be describing a Paternoster lift: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paternoster

If you want o try one out, get yourself to Sheffield Uni: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8-RdjCll0w

They’ve just done a feature on the Sheffield Uni Paternoster lift on Look North.
It’s a “listed lift”!

This is well worth watching. I'm watching it in Germany - even with my only-fundamental grasp of German it's gripping.

I finished S2 last night - good lord the last two episodes really built to a climax, with a nice twist near the end. Roll on S3!
