My opinion is that 'list threads' are unimaginative and boring.

Lord of the Rings films should have been right up my street however the first one was the only film I have ever fallen asleep in at the cinema, the second I left part way through. I just cannot get on with them despite the genre being one of my favourite.

That was 20th century. These days TV is fine, its mobile phones and smart meters.

“Children in need” is a convenient excuse for Lenny Henry to get a day out from the home for bewilder celebrities.

Am I doing this right?

I think that's quite a popular view tbh. It's certainly better than most of the Roger Moore films and anything with Pierce Brosnan in.
Not necessarily the best actor in place but GL is nowhere near as bad as he's made out to be.

The 51st state is a film masterpiece, Samuel L Jackson should have won an Oscar for his performance as Elmo.

That's not an unpopular opinion though.

-With rare exception, British comedy films are rubbish
-All DC films are rubbish, and this has also made their characters uncool
-Soap operas, including Downton Abbey, are for mindless dotards
-There is no such thing as a good female stand-up comedian (Live at the Apollo)
-Millennials can't/don't do comedy

Star Wars films are children's films. Some of them are good children's films, and some are bad children's films, but thay are all children's films.

Adult Star Wars fans are immature, have juvenile tastes and are mostly in denial about this.

It was at the time, but it's one I've held since I first saw it 1970.
