Meh, not for me.
Choppy editing and the way the time jumps/flashbacks are chopped in/merged are for my mind the story telling equivalent of a random icy cold drip of water to the forehead. Just couldn't settle into it.
Not hooked to learn Amy's history and of the characters in the crappy little town. Just cannae see me coming back.

I found episode one a bit slow, but because of the random brief flashbacks you have to pay attention. In one sense it is just a thriller, but there's a very very dark vibe to it and I suspect a lot more crazy dark stuff to come. I also loved all the music played in the car.
I'll stick with it, the production team seem to know what they are doing.

This is a superb series so far. Watched episode 3 last night and wow. Definite slow-burn but in a very good way.
If you loved True Detective S1, you will love this. Only 8 episodes too!

I expect the usual crowd will say it is too slow, but they should probably go back to watching a Transformers movie or something.
Just seen episode 4. This series just gets better and better.
The music is beautiful and binds as a metaphor. Like the words that morph in certain scenes. The flashbacks. Small town gossip more dangerous than a wielded machete. There is such a dark undercurrent that lies in Wind Gap, alluding to a mysterious past. Clues are sprinkled but hell you need to pay with your attention! Subtle genius.

I am getting that vive, southern horror Gothic...this is the follow up to TD1 that was needed. If you loved True Detective S1, you will love this. Only 8 episodes too!
Just watched three eps...my, what a great programme, the main actor is very watchable.
Really enjoyed that. Must admit I had to do some reading up after I watched the last one to make sure I was on the right lines as some of the editing was so fast!

Question:
Was Alan (Stereo Sweater Man) Camille's Dad or Stepdad? I never really sussed that out. Every so often Adora would say Camille was so like her father, which implied he wasn't Alan. Whilst I'm on the subject, did Alan know what was going on and just chose to ignore it?

Alan was Camille's step-father. In one of the earlier episodes, it mentions that Adora got pregnant by some random guy who took off. Which explains why Adora hates / blames Camille so much. Alan raised her as his own and both Amma and Marion are Alan's biological daughters.
Alan was well aware of what was going on; he chose to ignore it, there were a number of scenes of him despairing. Perhaps he used his music as his form of escape.

Make sure you watch right through the credits...
Thanks I completely missed that, I was still reeling from the floor made of teeth and stopped it as the credits rolled. Great series!
My only unanswered question was about Camille's flashbacks to the shed in the wood, was that related to her cheerleader gangbang or something else?
