Really enjoyed the original film. The sequel, not quite as good.

Now a 6-part series on BBC 2, Saturdays. Double-bubble on Saturday last.

Promising so far.

Best see the original film before watching, to get a bit of back-story.

Whats the Oz film? Until I read the synopsis I presumed you meant the Wizard of Oz, and the Mystery Road was some sort of Yellow Brick Road bypass!

Appears that the first two episodes were shown on BBC2, with no plans to show any others, but BBC4 has also shown the first two and has the next 2 scheduled for this Saturday.

Watched this all Saturday.

Excellent binge series. Lush cinematography that captures the beauty of the Aussie outback and sinister storyline of seedy, dodgy small community. Gripping, modern western. Can't recommend this highly enough.

BTW, how did Jay know where to find Reece?

Brilliant series.

Having driven out to the locality of the crime scene, he followed the faint tracks across that dried out desert area which took him to the cliff with the abo' wall paintings, he had a penny dropped moment when he dropped a stone into the pond and that inspired him to do a bit of swimming.
Obviously no crocs about....thank goodness.

Will start the second series tonite.

I`ve recently started watching this, saw the first 2 episodes then realised there was a film too, which I have just watched this afternoon.

On to the rest of the series now . . .

On iPlayer it's called Goldstone.
Great start.

That's the second film installment.

As a side note, a second series of Jack Irish should be hitting the UK soon. That's where I first saw Aaron Pedersen on the screen. Another excellent set of films & series.

Just watched Goldstone on iPlayer. I’ve already watched the Mystery Road film and series. I have to say, I enjoyed them all, but the icing on the cake in all of the, was the cinematography. Absolutely outstanding.

I know it’s “easy” when they’re filmed in the Outback, but even so, the camera work is something else.

Gets a bit repetitive watching these back to back i.e dodgy outback community but even so the cinematography wins it over. Nice take on the Jay character in Goldstone.

I've just started, it's a grim grind, no humour to lighten the mood.

This has been recommended to me, I’m a newcomer, so in what order should they be watched?
