Difficult to see how they can parody what's going on in real life! They will have to go the other way. Boris Johnson is a saint, who cultivates an image of a liar, cheat and womaniser in order to win votes, but in fact he secretly lives with his wife who he adores.
I'm sure they'll manage, they elevated many politicians to cult status the last time.abzmike said:
I remember the first time round when it was new and properly satirical and cutting. As with most things in the past though there was as much miss as hit. The various revivals have been pretty poor. Hope this is better but it’s down to the writing - the puppets are just the props.
This. I watched it in the 80's, much of it was really poor, a lot of the script was dire, unfunny. They relied too much on caricatures, a spitting Norman Tebbit dressed up a bover boy is funny once or twice but in the end it the show was let down by an un-funny, poor, script.Evangelion said:
I very much doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as the original, but all the same I expect I'll still watch it.
(Although come to think of it, it will probably be full of people I've never heard of.)
To be fair, the original was pretty rubbish most of the time, but when it hit the bullseye, it really did.(Although come to think of it, it will probably be full of people I've never heard of.)
