The Whisperer in Darkness - BBC Sounds Podcast

Listened to the 10 episode (c20 mins each) podcast airing of The Case of Charles Dexter Ward earlier this year which is based upon the short novel by H P Lovecraft.
Not a bad adaptation I thought.
Now the next part is the The Whisperer in Darkness. 3 episodes released on a Monday (6 so far).
The cast includes husband & wife team Barnaby Kay & Nicola Walker (the latter who could read a train timetable & I'd listen).
A few gaps/stretches in the adapted plot but on the whole, jolly good.
A pointless Brexit reference in ep 6 was somewhat superfluous, but don't let that put you off.
I'd give it 9/10.

Not much interest in this I guess.
The ending wasn't the strongest, not as good as the previous series & the next one already alluded to. But they've put up another episode, which is rather odd. I think anyone capable of manipulating the content will reveal a hidden message.
How intriguing.

ks. Listening to it now but still have a few episodes to go. Loving it so far as I did the previous series, but then I am a massive HP Lovecraft fan.
Eleanor Peck is great character despite the gratuitous and completely pointless anti-brexit digs and I'm glad they brought her in again - certainly my favourite from The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.
They've done a very good job in the updating and retelling of the stories.

"I saw an angel in the marble and carved until I set him free."
Alludes to a quote by Michelangelo - direct significance unknown, but I'd say probably something to do with searching for perfection and unleashing god-like entities?
Or, as you say, complete b
