I was expecting a budget version of Death in Paradise, but it's more a cheesier version of Dempsey and Makepeace.
The opening chase scene with music apparently taken from a '70s porn film, was a bit naff, as was the plot.
On the upside, the leading lady is easy on the eye, the locations are picturesque and the dynamic duo do get to swan about in a nice E30 convertible.

We are Upto episode 8 .... watching it now. It’s better than the other crap that’s on at the minute. It does make me want to go to Mallorca out of season and drive around

I'm enjoying this, currently up to ep.6. It's stylish, light-hearted entertainment. Dempsey and Makepeace is a good comparison, but in a sunnier setting.

We have just watched the last 2 episodes, season 2 is being filmed now by all accounts. It just goes to show how pretty Mallorca actually is.

I might watch this. I've been to Majorca a few times and it is a very pretty place.

I wonder if anybody gets murdered in Porta Pollensa.

I've been watching it on proper TV, so I've just recorded the third episode. It's pretty good, but as someone else said, a bit cheesy. But it's the kind of thing that I like to watch in January, like Death in Paradise, even if it's a bit poor.

It’s back for series 2. Fantastic. Cheesy escapism in the afternoon of my Days Off during the week.
First operatic episode lived up to / down to expectation. Book me in for the rest of the series!

Cheers for the update, I hadn't seen that advertised anywhere unless I just wasn't concentrating.

Thread resurrection ahoy ...

For some reason, despite being made by the BBC, series 3 of this is on Amazon Prime. We really enjoyed it and I thought it was a bit of a step up from previous series. Some dodgy acting by bit-parts aside (but that's part of the charm), it's quite funny, beautiful scenery, has a nice throwback feel. Recommend.

I happened to find series 1 and 2 on iPlayer a while ago when I was looking for something to watch. No great expectations, but they turned out to be quite addictive.

Pleased to see that series 3 is now on Amazon Freevee, so a Prime subscription isn't necessary to view it.
