The excellent Docudrama “From the earth to the Moon” (an HBO Tom Hanks production 1999)is being shown again on Sky Atlantic tonight @2100. If you have an interest in the race to the moon and haven’t seen this before it’s must watch series

I've had the boxed set for a few years and have watched it multiple times. It's up there with Band of Brothers in my opinion.

I believe what is being shown is the new Blu-Ray version with the CGI effect scenes all updated.
In my opinion it’s an absolutely extraordinary series, beautifully conceived and executed, it leaves very little of the Apollo story uncovered.
My personal favourite episode is ‘Spider’ which is a wonderfully distilled view of the design and engineering process wrapped into a human story.

Tom Hanks is rightly lauded for his talents but when you take in the depth and breadth of his achievements he’s arguably under appreciated!
