I realise this might be the most dull thread on PH. (Although having said that there are at least 3 about shoes in the lounge)

I've noticed that on these celebrity quiz shows, comedians seem to be much more knowledgeable than say, singers who are on. To a marked degree usually.
Bound to be some exceptions obviously but often at least.

So are singers thick as pigsh*t and comics intelligent?

A certain ex Blue Peter presenter this week was particularly dense it seemed. (name a two word Tom Cruise film - 'High Fliers', er, no not quite....) Although she doesn't fit in either category.

I should probably get out more.

Successful comedians have to re-write their act every year at a minimum as no-one will laugh at the same joke twice, so they need to be somewhat intelligent and aware of the outside world.

Musicians and actors can get through their careers without any such skills, as Ricky Gervais said the other night "most of you have spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg".

Also, on Celebrity Mastermind a lot of contestants are very good on their specialist subjects but woeful on basic general knowledge.
