The pilot last year was very good. Full series now on iPlayer.

Likely to be 'got' only by those living 10 miles outside of the M25 but some real gems to be had - not least of which is Simon Day back on the box!

I've had one or two big laughs but I'm still making my mind up. Like you, I think Simon Day is great and I like Romesh Ranganathan because of his travel programme . The lead actress is very convincing too. If that's possible in a comedy.

After two episodes I'm a bit confused by the lead character and his reluctance to face-up to one of his workers. That seemed odd to me.

I watched the first one and just couldn’t deal with ‘Gary’s’ wife as a character. She’s like fingernails down a blackboard, rather than funny.

So, I’m oot but horses for courses and all that.

The Gary guy is a weird shape, doesn’t help the jeans he wears but he looks like a tent peg.
It’s a bit funny but not a lot.

I quite enjoy his weird shape and funny walk in tight clothes. I also enjoy watching his wife's horrible OTT facial expressions. I should get out more.

Me and the Mrs watched them all this weekend...absolutely love it. The eyebrows in the pilot episode had me in tears.

I almost had tears running down my face watching episode 2.

Why? Because Gary and his wife exist, they are modelled on real people.

Puttshack White City? You could see a sign for television centre through one of the windows.

It is indeed! I stumbled across it last weekend after someone here recommended Westfield for parking.

Yes, she was Louise the chunky lesbian.

New series last night, loved the first 2 minutes but it went downhill rapidly after that. I didn’t see it through, just wasn’t entertaining but I’ll try again next week.

Not seen the second series yet but seemed a bit one trick pony.

Saw the pilot of this show a year or two back and still remember thinking what a load of utter bilge it was. Didn't even realise they'd made a series let alone commissioned another! Presumed it had been rightly canned after the pilot.

Surprised at some of the love for it on here...takes all sorts, each to their own we're all different etc etc...I know I know but seriously King Gary??? Absolute pile of crap. Can't remember much about it now except for a 'hilarious' scene where his wife gets some ridiculous eyebrows tattooed on her face. fk me, total ste.

Absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND.

It's got a fair few well known faces in the cast now too...

..I agree - it is mostly terrible.

But I'll still watch it biggrin

ETA: I didn't think the first episode of this 2nd series was too bad actually.

Almost tempted to give it another chance after seeing some of the comments on here, but not sure I can bring myself to do it laugh

To be fair I gave up on This Country after one episode (the making of it just seemed like a total rip off of The Office), but after a few on here raved about it I gave it another try and ended up enjoying it. So you never know...
