WTF has happened to tv?

About four years ago it occurred to me that the majority of television I watched was via Netflix combined with a weekly visit to the cinema. My kids all stuck to YouTube/Internet. As such, I cancelled my TV licence.
So for years now my TV use has been very straightforward. We always have at least two shows on the go via Netflix or Amazon (right now it is homeland and You) And so when/if we find time to sit down in the evening, we know exactly what we will watch and never find ourselves just wasting time flicking through junk.
However, last night found ourselves in a hotel watching regular TV. Naked attraction followed by naked beach (may have got the names wrong)
WT holy F ....... I get everything can’t be award winning drama, but good grief. Having now had my dose of that for the next five years it left me convinced I had done the right thing by ditching that license (and having a gym membership – quite where peoples body confidence issues come from with stuff like that on TV I have no idea!!! )
