Watched first episode last night. All 4 episodes on consecutive nights this week. Started very strongly I thought so here's hoping for the remainder to be as good.
Great cast and some excellent acting with lots of potential twists and turns so promising start to what could turn out to be a good one. I like the ones ITV do on consecutive nights as it keeps the pace going.

Overall I thought it was a bit pants, but I did really like the Imelda Staunton character.

I recorded this as I assumed, quite rightly, that it would be up my wife’s street.
The part that intrigued me, and I checked it by pausing and rewinding, was when Imelda Staunton’s character repackaged the lightweight housecoat/dressing gown she’d taken from the courier, but carefully omitted the card from Mark, the new man.
I couldn’t see why she’d do that, as I assume that she gave the package to Vivien, although I can’t remember if Vivien wore it, (presumably Imelda got the gravy stain off, after trying it on!)

She sewed an extra piece of cloth over the top.

That family has a lot of bad luck! hehe

I remember the sewing basket, but I don’t recall seeing her sewing anything, but I’ll accept your version, she must have been a blinding seamstress, to do what must have approached invisible mending!

I enjoyed it. A proper plot, easy to follow, decent ending, plenty of unresolved stuff for another mini series.

4 episodes plenty to keep the whole thing bubbling along, without any nonsensical padding.

Imelda Staunton character, just scary enough.

I enjoyed it very much, but I’d say no to a second series. Let that final 2 seconds just remain with you to work out the machinations. Wife and I both went aaaaarrgghh!

Second series incoming I'd say. So many threads to tie up.

Well I thought the ending was just weak. It came as absolutely no surprise whatsoever. The whole thing was far too nicey nicey in a middle class way. There was no edge to it at all. I kept hoping that something exciting would happen but it didn't. I couldn't believe they actually went for that last two seconds. If they'd cut it short it would've rescued something from the boredom.

Second series? I'm out. Mind, Stephen Rea looked as if he couldn't be bothered to be involved in the first series as it was, the body was there but the mind was elsewhere......

Watched the first episode last night and thought it was OK. It didn't make me want to binge the other 3 episodes but I will watchbthem in due course.
