I enjoyed his series where people go all amazon and live like hermits.

This is just "Ben Fogle visits people who change jobs" ?!

Thread resurrection...

Watched the first of his new series tonight. A truly amazing story of a Yorkshire woman whose mother came from Columbia and she's now gone back and lives in an incredible hut on a hillside. Her and her mother's story would make a great film!

Very watchable thumbup

Mmm , I watched it and thought it was almost to bizarre to be real , I couldn’t help but think it was a great pitch for a movie , if somewhat inspired by the jungle book , and a free tv audition by the girl for her musical talents .

She wrote a memoir years ago that was variously described as 'an unbelievable story, and many have chosen not to believe'.

It was all rather weird and not a believable story with regards the raised by monkeys stuff. But I did wonder if the woman featured was simply telling us all what her mother had genuinely told her as a real story. But it was more odd than just that with the Columbian child kidnappings in the 50s (a real thing) and the religious stuff which the protagonist escaped from.

She was a good singer though - especially since she actually considered herself a musician rather than a singer.

Cracking episode, not sure who built the hut. Or why mum given the history had retained such a strong Colombian accent.
