My nomination would be No Blade Of Grass - pretty good
The last Quatermass from the late 70s is up there too

Soylent Green
Watched Bird Box the other day which was depressing. A Quiet Place is better.
The Last Of Us on PS3/4 is better than both!

Quatermass (the one with John Mills & Simon MacCorkindale)

Day Of The Triffids (the one with John Duttine, not the steaming pile of horsest one with Eddie Izzard)

The Changes (70s TV children's TV drama that would never be allowed today)

Night Of The Comet (I do like 1980s big hair !):

A really heart-warming and feel-good film.

I'm probably not going up to Yorkshire to see my parents this weekend now, so I guess that'll do for a reminder of growing up there!

I've been looking for that, although I'm more familiar with the remake from 2008. Can't find it though. frown

I saw that when it was transmitted and the cold shivers are still in my mind when I think about it. I have a copy of it but haven't watched it - it is on VHS so you can guess how long I've put off seeing it again!

The last Quatermass and On the Beach are good calls too. Also perhaps Contagion? I have not seen that one though.

BBC 'Survivors' 1975 is quite good but bleak and depressing.
You need lots of 12 bore ammunition to get through episode.
Save one round for yourself at the end.

Sadly it has not fared well in this age of re releasing archive stuff.

It was shot on early 1 pixel per inch rubbish video cameras that mean new transfers have no extra detail or resolution.
Not much can be recovered or enhanced unlike 35mm film which restores incredibly well as it captured so much detail originally.

It's a fantastic film in it's own right, nevermind the current situation.

The clips on YT are worth viewing just to read the comments. biggrin

Ah - of course the newer "Survivors" - was pretty good. And that Abbie bird was quite nice if you like your milfy types.

The Mad Max films surely? What better insight into the way things are possibly heading, we're fighting for bog roll now, we'll all be wearing bondage gear and chasing after guzolene before we know it wink
