Watched the final part last night and for the life of me can’t get my head around how they were found guilty. If it were today surely it wouldn’t get past the CPS, as the evidence was basically a video, edited by the makers of the show and that’s it. Even the 18 month jail sentence, suspended for two years was a joke and it seemed to portray that the judge wholly disagreed with the jury.
We watch the typical Road Wars, Cops on the Front Line, etc and see the low life getting away with bloody murder as they just turn round and say “it wasn’t me Guv, prove it” inevitably it comes on at the end saying no further action was taken, even though the police just about caught them red handed.
They also mentioned at the end the couple are still appealing the decision after all these years and I imagine if they were ever successful they would certainly become over night millionaires.
