Can anybody cleverer than me tell me what is happening with BT TV, I am currently on their old packages of which mine is titled Entertainment Extra, this gives me all the freeview channels etc plus BT Sport and the BT premium channels - History, Discovery, Discovery Turbo and more that I can't remember.
It seems that BT TV have added the NOWTV channels to the mix and are selling all their current packages with NOWTV programs.
Last night after watching the History channel a message appeared stating that it was moving to Sky. So I have spoken with BT today regarding this and the guy I spoke to had no idea what was happening, had no idea that NOWTV was part of Sky and basically wasn't able to help at all.
So basically is there a knowledgeable BT TV expert on PH that knows the answers.

They are but it would appear they are losing a lot of the old channels like Crime and Investigation (which my wife loves) and I really don't want to go back to Sky, as I would then have to pay £lots on top for BTSport, NowTV is a good addition and the new flexible packs are good though, my contract is due to expire and I was looking at the options last night.

BT are moving to a more "flexible" package which is including a lot of Sky channels. Things like Sky Atlantic, Now TV etc.
Yep, they've been running ads recently saying they're moving to packages as described above where you got the option of turning individual channel packs on / off on a monthly basis depending on whether you want them or not. But at the same time saying they're adding more channel choice too.Vague info online does seem to suggest it's being done in a similar way to Sky a few years back when they repackaged things, so i wouldn't be surprised if some channels end up bundled in such a way that if you want a specific channel it could end up being in a package with loads of others you don't want / need but have to pay for anyway.

Decided today to set apathy aside and take some action over my BT TV. I am on a £25 a month package with an old box and there is nothing worth watching on it. I phoned BT and surprisingly got through to their automated answering machine immediately where you are told they are not dealing with any TV calls and to go onto the website where you can choose from 3 options. It then went on to say "do not hang on for an advisor).
I decided to hang on anyway and after about 20 seconds I could hear a phone ringing and then a man answered and asked what he could help with. He was clearly working from home as I could hear children in the background. I gave him my cancellation spiel and of course eventually out came the offer to stay. New entertainment package including Now TV, Sky 1, Sky Atlantic and others and a new set top box all for the princely sum of £5 a month for 6 months and then £10 thereafter. He was staggered at the price I am paying them for Broadband and Phone which was the result of a previous call some months ago. In total I will now be paying £25 a month for the lot. Result!

BT Sport
I have just had a frustrating few days trying to get BT Sport on my Sky box for £10 a month. It the end it wouldn't work because the Sky box was a left over from a deal years ago and I wasn't paying Sky a subscription for it.
Any advice or ideas how to get BT Sport, or perhaps Sky Sports cheaply?
I've got Freeview, I am just interested in Rugby Union, possibly cycling and cricket.
Not interested in football (soccer), boxing, F1.
Any ideas please?

If your internet is with BT or Plusnet you can add it on through that, I use the phone app and Chromecast it to the TV. https://www.plus.net/entertainment/bt-sport/

It is with Plusnet. The bloke today said the app would only work on a phone or a tablet, unless I had an Apple(?) TV. I haven't.I didn't know you could get it on your TV with one of those Chromecast things?
